I designed set and costume for a piece of new writing 'The Last Ambulance' which repped from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama to The Gate Theatre in London. The design process was practically driven, with a turn around of twenty minutes. My intent was to create a clean crisp space that juxtaposed the narrative. Black reflective dance floor was used on both the wall and floor to create a mirrored space. A raised wrap around perspex bench, entrapped the cast, they sat higher than audience members. The chrome pipes and tap created a focal point and became a climbing frame for Teddy, adding height. I also placed an industrial light tube in the space to create a different lighting state, something that would differentiate Teddy's space from the other scenes.
