I designed set and costume for 'The Magic Porridge Pot' which toured around South Wales before completing its run at the Sherman Studio in Cardiff. The audience were immersed within a magical forest, glowing tubular trees lined the theatres walls, mats within the auditorium created the forest floor with muddy bird and foot prints. The central stage space represented a shack which contained two crates and household items. The neighbours were represented by three 'trees,' a stack of over-sized flour bags for the baker, piled chopped wood with removable axes for the wood cutter and a tower of milk churns for the milk man. The neighbours belongings and costumes were positioned around the base of each tree. Magic porridge spilt out across the entire stage space in the form of silk which was hidden within one of the crates and poured (pulled) through the magic pot.
